total cost changes to the wrong amount

I’m having issues setting up pricing for my tour. The total cost of the tour changes to the wrong amount after a variation is added and it then it jumps to a larger amount after the variation is un selected.

The numbers are way off after making a selection, the price should be $1200 and the total with the optional upgrade should be $2500. The number jumps to 10,000 when the option is selected and returns to $4800 when de-selected. Total cost seems to be multiplying by 4. How can I resolve this issue?
